Why this is hard to answer with a map search
Unlike plasma centers, sperm banks have only a handful of donor collection sites each, they are not ubiquitous. A Google Maps search for "sperm bank near me" returns recipient-facing locations (where people buy donor sperm) which are different from donor collection sites. This page maps the actual donor recruitment locations so you know where to actually go.

Universal requirements across all paid sperm banks
These requirements apply at nearly every bank. Check each bank's page for their specific cutoffs:
- Age: 18–39. Most banks prefer 18–34.
- Height: 5'8"+ at most banks. California Cryobank requires 5'9"+.
- Health: Non-smoker, no major hereditary conditions, passing semen analysis.
- Education: Most major banks require college enrollment or degree. Xytex and some regional banks are more flexible.
- Commitment: Most programs expect 1–3 donations per week over 6–12 months. Short-term donation is not available.
- Proximity: You need to live or work within reasonable driving distance of the donor collection site, most banks set a 1–2 hour radius.
Read the full sperm donor requirements page for what each criterion means in practice.
How to find out if a bank near you is accepting donors
Banks do not advertise real-time openings publicly. The only way to know: apply. Online applications are free and take 20–30 minutes. If a bank is at capacity in your city, they'll tell you after the initial review. Most banks will put you on a waitlist if they like your profile.
Apply to multiple at once. There's no penalty for applying to several banks simultaneously. Whoever processes your semen analysis first and approves you is where you start.

FAQ
What if no sperm bank is near me?
If you're more than 1–2 hours from any donor collection site, you likely can't participate in a standard paid donor program, these require frequent, in-person visits. California Cryobank has the widest footprint, so check their full city list first. Some people relocate or only donate during periods when they're in a covered city (college, travel, etc.).
Is pay per visit or per approved donation?
Pay is per approved donation, not per visit. You will give a sample; the bank tests it for volume, motility, and count. Only samples that pass quality thresholds are compensated. At most banks, 60–80% of samples from cleared donors are approved. You are paid for the ones that pass, not for every visit.
How long does it take to start getting paid?
Plan for 2–3 months from initial application to first paycheck. The timeline: online application (2 weeks to review), semen analysis (1–2 visits), full health and genetic screening (2–4 weeks), legal paperwork and contract, then active donation begins. Some banks pay a portion monthly; others pay out in lump sums. Check each bank's payment schedule.
Can I donate at more than one sperm bank?
No, most banks prohibit simultaneous donation at other facilities and require you to disclose prior donations. Donating at multiple banks without disclosure violates your contract and can result in termination and potential legal liability. Apply to multiple to find the best fit, then commit to one.
